Project Details
Optimal wind turbine and wind farm control for demand-oriented feed-in (C05*)
Subject Area
Automation, Mechatronics, Control Systems, Intelligent Technical Systems, Robotics
Term
since 2025
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 434502799
The main goal of the subproject C05 is to develop control algorithms for wind turbines and wind farms that can increase the value of wind energy by improving the energy capture and limiting structural loads. The impact of inflow conditions and operating modes specific for large wind turbines on the power output, structural loads and wakes will be modelled and serve as a basis for the controller design. Furthermore, information from the digital twin will be integrated in the controller and used for the adaptation of control algorithms to eventual changes in the plant characteristics and structural health state. The developed control algorithms will be validated numerically and experimentally in wind tunnel experiments.
