In this project, we will pursue two complementary innovative avenues to study many-body interactions among nucleons and hyperons. Such interactions are key to unraveling the equation of the state of very dense nuclear matter and, hence, of neutron stars. A microscopic understanding of the interactions constrains the evolution of supernova explosions studied in M05 and provides new doorways for physics scenarios beyond the Standard Model, as addressed in M07.
