Project Details
Field emission scanning electron microscope for chemical materials science
Subject Area
Chemical Solid State and Surface Research
Term
Funded in 2025
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 553760961
Support for a field emission scanning electron microscope for investigations of material morphologies, particle size distributions, chemical composition and microstructure is requested. Routine electron microscopic investigations of particle morphology and surface textures of materials as well as solid-solid composites are to be generated with maximum resolution, and qualitative and quantitative determination of particle sizes and particle size distributions are to be carried out. In addition, topographical information of sample surfaces will be obtained, and chemical compositions of materials will be determined. Another application is the analysis of grain orientations, orientation distributions and lattice displacement structures by using electron backscatter diffraction from solids.
