The subject of the application is a cross-faculty high-performance computer for the University of Rostock. Due to the increased requirements of the user groups in terms of computing power, memory capacity and flexibility, the procurement of a high-performance computer of the latest generation is essential for university research. The requested high-performance computer is also intended to completely replace an existing heterogeneous high-performance computer at the IT- und Medienzentrum (University of Rostock) from 2015. Furthermore, the requested high-performance computer will be used to support the development, preparation and follow-up of research projects with increased computing requirements that require outsourcing to NHR resources.
