The Center for Information and Media Technology (ZIM) operates a High-Performance-Compute-Cluster for scientific computations, which can be used by all scientific facilities and institutes of Heinrich-Heine-Universität. Most of the current GPU configuration was aquired between 2017 and 2019 and does not satisfy the computing needs of research anymore. Furthermore, the current GPU configuration consumes too much energy in relation to the provided compute power. Moreover, the need for compute nodes with a main memory configuration in terrabyte increased. HHU intends to aquire up to date GPU server as well as compute nodes equipped with at last 4 TB of main memory.
