Project Details
Interaction and properties of halogens in 2D materials (C03)
Subject Area
Inorganic Molecular Chemistry - Synthesis and Characterisation
Term
since 2025
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 555467911
C03 studies halide-carbon interactions to understand the intercalation process in 2D materials. It investigates the influence of charge transfer and confinement on the structure and reactivity of intercalated halide species in graphite, few-layer graphene, and carbon nanotubes. In situ synthesis of polyhalide species will provide a fundamental understanding of interactions and will be observed by Raman scattering during the intercalation process.
