The central goal of this project proposal is the development of Monte-Carlo programs for photon-production processes of particular phenomenological relevance. For a precise and realistic simulation of processes with photons next-to-leading order QCD corrections will be taken into account. Direct and fragmentation contributions will be accounted for by an appropriate matching to an interleaved QED+QCD parton shower using the POWHEG formalism. Phenomenological studies with the newly developed Monte-Carlo programs will shed light on validity and limitations of various photon isolation strategies.
