Project C3 investigates the strategic role of pragmatic inferences in the actualization of common ground in socio-cultural contexts. It is primarily concerned with strategies and positioning methods in public discourse (politics, advertising), but also takes a comparative look at the role of pragmatic inferences in literary texts. The project combines formal semantics / pragmatics and linguistic discourse analysis.
