Project Details
Development of a process-related measuring device for the calibration of cooling rate-dependent pvT models for precise simulative prediction of part warpage (T12#)
Subject Area
Plastics Engineering
Term
since 2026
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 236616214
The pvT behavior of plastics is an elementary part of process and mould design. This project aims to make research into cooling rate-dependent pvT models applicable in practice. As newly developed cooling rate-dependent pvT models cannot be adequately calibrated due to the limited measurement technology, a modular measurement cell with a small sample volume and controlled cooling is being researched. The acquisition of process-related pvT data will be used to calibrate a cooling rate-dependent pvT model, which will then be implemented in a commercial process simulation.
