Project Details
AI-guided histopathological discovery in MASLD, linking disease mechanisms with prognosis (A02)
Subject Area
Gastroenterology
Term
since 2025
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 535081457
Project A02 leverages AI-driven analysis of routine histopathological liver slides to detect and define regions that represent MASLD disease stages and reflect progression risk. The focus lies on identifying molecular alterations and key regions in tissue driving disease dynamics. By combining AI models, in depth molecular and cellular phenotyping and mechanistic exploration of the events that lead to metabolic injury and cell stress, the project aims to develop novel pathophysiological hypotheses that could enhance diagnostic tools and lead to new therapies.
