Understanding the combined effects of disorder and interactions in quantum many-body systems is a key topic in solid-state and quantum physics. Most studies to date have investigated static properties. This device will be used to investigate the dynamics of fermionic quantum gases in disordered, time-dependent potentials. For this purpose, quantum degenerate gases of fermionic lithium are trapped by means of laser cooling and optical potentials and prepared along the BEC-BCS transition in a disordered optical potential. The investigations will shed light on how the microscopic structure of the super-fluids determines the behavior in time-dependent disorder.
