Specific objectives include the creation of a specialised ontology, a metadata convention for menu cards, the development of a work environment for capturing normalized annotation data, improved text and layout recognition for culinary materials, and the establishment of a culinary portal. This portal will facilitate the visualization and exploration of annotated digitized materials while also serving as a virtual research environment to support scholarly activities.
