Free boundary problems with nonlocal operators (A01)

In this project, we plan to study nonlocal problems and associated free boundary problems that arise in selected applications in the natural sciences. In the first funding period, we will concentrate on models for cell polarization and radiative heat transfer, respectively. The main mathematical questions concern asymptotic limits in critical parameter regimes, time regularity of free boundaries and the influence of external forces on qualitative features of solutions.
