Exploring the potential of LLM-supported mobility planning (C06)

Project C6 will explore the potential of Large Language Models (LLMs) in enhancing simulation-based mobility planning. We will explore existing knowledge on the mobility domain in current LLMs, and enhance current LLMs with mobility knowledge from within this CRC and beyond. We will also evaluate the suitability of LLMs for the input and output of the mobility planning pipeline, i.e., how to brainstorm potential solutions, and how to estimate the acceptance of mobility interventions. We will also apply LLMs for (approximate) system-wide simulations to test whether and how they can augment the existing MATSim simulation tool.
