C03 focuses on design principles for digital, simulation-based and personalised learning of medical students’ advanced professional vision in ward round communication. In terms of instructional design, the project uses eye movement modelling examples (EMMEs) as representational scaffolds as basis for learners’ verbal reflection. It uses personalised, large-language-model-based feedback upon verbal reflections and combines EMMEs with knowledge activation prompts as learning process scaffolds. The project comprises one empirical field study to support simulation development and three randomized and controlled experimental studies on its instructional design.
