Bernard Bolzano's philosophical-theological diary “Miscellanea theologica IX” is to be deciphered from the manuscripts and a corresponding edition produced as part of the Bernard Bolzano Complete Edition (BGA). This diary is the last one that has not yet been published in the BGA. The difficult-to-read Kurrent handwriting, peppered with abbreviations, makes the manuscript decipherable only for a few experts. The BGA, which has been published since 1969 - always with great support from the DFG - has now completed 112 of 130 planned volumes. Since 2023, the applicant has been one of the two general editors who have set themselves the ambitious goal of completing the edition quickly - if possible by 2031, the 250th anniversary of Bolzano's birth. The diary provides a rare insight into the concrete research activities (in this case: the examination of newly published literature) of the great Bohemian philosopher, mathematician, and theologian.
