The aim of the project is to predict changes in axial length in patients with high myopia due to elongation of the eye. After that, the results of the first two subprojects (1. training an artificial intelligence to determine axial length based on images and 2. risk prediction of axial elongation) will be applied to the UK Biobank database. The UK Biobank is an epidemiological database containing ophthalmic images and complete genetic data of its participants. The UK Biobank will be analyzed for frequently occurring genetic variations in patients at high risk of eye elongation in high myopia.
