Project Details
Translating advanced biophysical modelling into the clinical practice of deep brain stimulation programming (C05*)
Subject Area
Clinical Neurology; Neurosurgery and Neuroradiology
Term
since 2026
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 299150580
The project aims to apply advanced biophysical models of deep brain stimulation clinically for the first time. Two extensive datasets from previous studies are reanalysed using newly developed tools (Lead-DBS, OSS-DBS) and a high-resolution human connectome. The goal is to identify disease-specific and symptom-specific therapeutic networks that lead to improved clinical outcomes. The project is based on retrospective patient data and conducted in close collaboration with other subprojects of the Collaborative Research Centre ELAINE.
