Project Details
Mass cytometer with imaging function
Subject Area
Medicine
Term
Funded in 2025
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 571964215
We aim to upgrade the existing mass cytometer with imaging function to the newest model generation with better performance in sensitivity, automation, stability and maintenance. Due to the strong demand for use in our mass cytometry facility (a shared facility of the Medical Faculty Freiburg), we currently experience long waiting lists. Moreover, we experience increasing downtime of the instrument of the old model generation. The upgrade to a novel model generation will improve speed of acquisition, data quality and automation of acquisiation ue to technological upgrades as well as reduced maintenance. This will be a major improvement for the use since the low acquisition speed is highly relevant in imaging mass cytometry, a technology central to many ongoing and planned multiomics research projects. The upgrade is possible with minimal changes to the existing facility infrastructure.
