Inflammation leaves lasting imprints beyond visible scarring. Conventional treatments suppress inflammation but often do not lead to complete tissue healing. Using advanced tissue imaging, gene expression analysis and machine learning methods, we aim to identify the key regulators of niche regeneration and create molecular signatures that distinguish fully healed from partially healed tissues. We want to redefine the term “healing” by investigating how cells, molecules and tissue structures interact with each other.
