Project Details
Characterisation of molecular resistance mechanisms against biological therapies in inflammatory bowel diseases (TP09)
Subject Area
Gastroenterology
Term
since 2026
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 550296805
In this project, we aim to decipher the molecular resistance mechanisms that drive therapeutic non-response to biological therapies in inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). Here, we will functionally characterize gut macrophage populations involved in IL-23 production and analyze the extent to which IL-23R autocrine signaling events contribute to anti-TNF refractory IBD. Continuing on own findings, viral signatures concerning their functional role to regulate IL-23 production and IL-23R expression in gut macrophages will be studied to uncover their involvement in determining therapeutic response to biological therapy in IBD.
