Project Details
Ultrafast spin dynamics and electronic structure evolution in metallic layered Kagome magnets (A11*)
Subject Area
Optics, Quantum Optics and Physics of Atoms, Molecules and Plasmas
Term
since 2026
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 328545488
We investigate ultrafast spin, charge, and orbital dynamics in Kagome magnets using time-resolved spectroscopy and transport techniques. We synthesize high-quality thin films and heterostructures of FeSn, FeGe, and Fe3Sn2, characterizing their structural and magnetic properties. We then employ time- and spin-resolved ARPES, and through collaborations MOKE, and ultrafast diffraction to study demagnetization and charge-density wave dynamics. Finally, we explore the potential for ultrafast spin- and orbitronic devices, using ST-FMR and THz emission to probe orbital currents and exchange bias in magnetic bilayers.
