Project Details
Compartmentalized diversity of inflammatory GPCR networks in neurovascular disease (A06)
Subject Area
Molecular and Cellular Neurology and Neuropathology
Term
since 2026
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 548585053
Project A06 explores inflammatory G protein-coupled receptor networks (IGPNs) as drivers of neurovascular diseases, focusing on cerebral small vessel disease and intracranial atherosclerosis. It combines single-cell analyses including on human biosamples with studies on new experimental models to map spatial expression patterns of chemokines and lipid mediators. Functional analyses of candidate pathways such as MIF/CD74 and CXCL12/CXCR4 will reveal disease mechanisms and identify vascular zonation-specific IGPN components that could serve as novel anti-inflammatory targets.
