Project Details
Defining the interplay of vascular and glial cellular networks in response to neurovascular amyloidosis (C04)
Subject Area
Molecular and Cellular Neurology and Neuropathology
Term
since 2026
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 548585053
This project investigates how vascular and glial cellular networks respond to vascular amyloid deposition and how their interplay contributes to neurovascular dysfunction. It focuses on cellular interactions between mural cells, endothelial cells, and astrocytes in response to amyloid accumulation in small vessels. Using mouse models, in vivo imaging, and spatial transcriptomics, the project aims to identify mechanisms of impaired neurovascular signaling and determine whether modulating vascular-glial communication can mitigate disease progression.
