A05 [IncluSpace] examines how current crisis of legitimacy and its effects (e.g. regressive democracy, persistent inequality through social differentiation) affect the institutional and conceptual relationship between participation and belonging. Adopting “justice and inclusion in the context of differentiation” as a shared comparative framework, A05 analyzes educational governance structures in Brazil, Germany, and the U.S. through three analytical foci: (1) the promise of recognition and belonging; (2) the normative frameworks and administrative orders of justification; and (3) the spaces in which inclusion and differentiation are operationalized.
