Project Details
Interactions between growth of Fomes fomentarius and substrate hydrolysis in continuous plug flow-based bioreactor cultivations (A07)
Subject Area
Biomaterials
Term
since 2026
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 548244816
A plug flow bioreactor will be designed for the hydrolytic degradation of plant substrates by F. fomentarius. The bioprocess will be developed through investigation of the interaction of F. fomentarius and substrate particles to initiate growth structures and the interaction between process conditions and product features. A special focus is put on the consideration of spatial gradients and suspension recirculation for a better process understanding but also process control.
