Project Details
Chemical and genetic tuning of protein dephosphorylation to augment trigger-induced immune responses (B03)
Subject Area
Cell Biology
Term
since 2026
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 550938463
Phosphorylation and dephosphorylation of proteins is a pivotal modality for trigger processing and de-regulated phosphorylation is a hallmark of several diseases. We will focus on metal-dependent protein phosphatases (PPMs) and systematically map the PPMs regulating the cellular response to soluble and particulate innate immune triggers. Using small molecule inhibitors and their chemical diversification we will precisely target key PPM phosphatases to augment cellular capabilities in innate immunity.
