Project Details
Study of the nuclear dipole resonance region with electron scattering (N04#)
Subject Area
Nuclear and Elementary Particle Physics, Quantum Mechanics, Relativity, Fields
Term
since 2026
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 514321794
An event generator (for Monte Carlo simulations) including both elastic scattering and inelastic resonances will be developed. The MAGIX detector will be commissioned and collect data with a carbon-12 target. The data will be used to benchmark simulations of the MAGIX detector. Detailed simulation studies of inelastic processes will be carried out and used to optimize future measurements. An analysis of the giant dipole resonance (GDR) in carbon-12 will be performed, and compared to existing measurements.
