Coordination of the Research Unit 967

Subject Area Biochemistry
Term from 2008 to 2015
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 50070218

The aims of the Research Unit are i) to further strengthen the detailed analysis of single ribosome-ligand complexes by integrating experimental strategies from various groups into the different projects and ii) to advance by team effort from the snapshots that are taken on single complexes to the “full picture”, i. e. the complete set of potentially competing or cooperating ligands as it is present in the cells. In order to accomplish this a network was formed by the combination of already existing bilateral cooperations and by the addition of selected groups. It will be the task of the coordinating scientists of the Research Unit to implement the framework for the free and timely exchange of ideas, methods, and results within the Unit as well as to provide an interface to the scientific community and the interested public. Therefore, the applying coordinators (Richard Zimmermann & Johannes Herrmann) require the help of a secretary who will care for the home page as one central element and organize a series of internal meetings as the other central element of internal communication. In addition, the secretary will be responsible for organization of an international conference and for public relations.
