Zusammenfassung der Projektergebnisse

In vitro maturation (IVM) of oocytes in IVF cycles (in vitro fertilization) is a new but promising technique. It may offer low risk IVF procedures especially in patients who are at high risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS). We have analysed the safety of IVM under several aspects: Pre- and perinatal data compared to a matched group of standard IVF-/ICSI pregnancies. - Two years follow up of IVM children and neurological testing according to Bayley score also compared to a matched group of standard IVF-/ICSI children. - Epimutation screening in individual human (IVM versus control) oocytes as well as in placental tissue and umbilical cord blood from children after IVM, IVF or ICSI. Up to now we couldn’t detect any negative effects of in vitro maturation of human oocytes. This data further confirm the safety of clinical use of this technique off assisted reproduction.
