Project Details
Cyclic deformation and fatigue behaviour (B03)
Subject Area
Mechanical Properties of Metallic Materials and their Microstructural Origins
Term
from 2008 to 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 54473466
B3 investigates the fatigue properties of the composites exhibiting enhanced interfacial bonding as well as of the newly developed high-nitrogen steels. Besides investigations dealing with the influence of mean stress, mean strain and monotonic pre-deformation, respectively, further research activities examine the cyclic behaviour under axial-torsional load. In terms of cyclic crack growth random loads and the resulting material behaviour and phase transformations will be examined. Furthermore, B3 investigates the material properties of a TRIP-Matrix-Composite regarding its application as a bottom plate in an aluminium-melting furnace. All tests are accompanied by investigations of the microstructure.
