The scientific projects within the German Priority Research Programme SPP 1488 require an intensive interdisciplinary cooperation. A network of close cooperation between space science, physics, mathematics, and experiments has to be established. The links between the various projects have to be developped on workshops within the working groups and on general program science meetings to guarantee the scientific exchange and the work flow between the working groups and to achieve interdisciplinary scientific results. A particular objective is to stimulate a networking between young geoscientists participating in the use of the novel and excellent satellite data. The training of the young scientists will be supported by summer schools, doctoral and post-doctoral seminars and specific workshops organized by the junior scientists. All these activities have to be managed and supported by a specially assigned scientific manager in close cooperation with the topical coordinator and the steering committee. For internal and external exchange of data sets, model results, documentation and publication, an initial internet platform, http://www.planetmag.de, is already established. Its further development and web-site management needs to be performed by a scientific assistant under supervision of the steering committee.
