Education was a central idea of the German Werkbund, in the interwar period it was aggressively promoted on the international level by the pioneers of the modern movement in cooperation with the progressive forces of the industry. In the case study on the task of school buildings the design ideals will be comparatively investigated under the various socio-political conditions of the Weimar Republic, Switzerland and Czechoslovakia between the wars. The study concerns the flagship project of the architectural commitments in the field of popular education and public health, it has thus model character. The comparative research approach aimes on a critical revision of the standard conventions of aesthetic education, of the dialogue and modi of reception in the reform oriented architectural concepts.
