Zusammenfassung der Projektergebnisse

Entscheidungsbildung ist der Eckpfeiler aller Sozial- und Verhaltenswissenschaften, insbesondere der Wirtschafts- und Politikwissenschaft, Psychologie und Soziologie. Obwohl bei diesen Disziplinen unterschiedliche Forschungsfragen im Zentrum stehen und sie unterschiedliche Modelle entwickelt haben, teilen sie auch Forschungsthemen und -methoden. Auf der individuellen Ebene ist eine Gemeinsamkeit die Rationalitätsannahme – als Ausgangspunkt für Theorien oder als Vergleichsstandard in der Analyse. Auf der Ebene der Aggregation spielt die Spieltheorie in allen Sozialwissenschaften eine wichtige Rolle. Methodisch teilen die Entscheidungswissenschaften Methoden für Datenerhebung und Analyse. Die Entscheidungswissenschaften haben in den letzten Jahrzehnten stark an Bedeutung gewonnen. Mit kontrollierten Experimenten wurde das ökonomische Standardmodell, das auf der Annahme von Rationalität und Egoismus basiert, in Frage gestellt. Darüber hinaus wurden immer mehr und größere Datensätze über das menschliche Verhalten verfügbar, denn immer mehr menschliche Entscheidungen hinterlassen digitale Spuren, zum Beispiel beim Online-Kauf oder in den sozialen Medien. Die Graduate School of Decision Sciences (GSDS) bietet eine Ausbildungs- und Forschungsumgebung, in der menschliches Verhalten und seine Folgen aus verschiedenen Perspektiven und mit unterschiedlichen Methoden untersucht werden. Dazu gehören die Planung von Labor- und Feldversuchen oder Erhebungen, die Nutzung von Verwaltungsdaten, die Erstellung von Simulationen und die Entwicklung von Theorien. Darüber hinaus werden Methoden zur Analyse der unterschiedlich erhobenen Daten zur Verfügung gestellt. Die Graduiertenschule konzentriert sich auf vier interdisziplinäre Forschungsbereiche, zwischen denen mehrere Querbezüge bestehen: (A) Behavioural Decision Making; (B) Intertemporal Choice and Markets; (C) Political Decisions and Institutions und (D) Information Processing and Statistical Analysis. Ihr multidisziplinärer Charakter wird durch zahlreiche bestehende Verbindungen und Forschungskooperationen zwischen den beteiligten Disziplinen deutlich und wird im Rahmen der Graduiertenschule permanent erweitert. Ein breites Kurs- und Seminarangebot sowie ein offenes und kommunikatives wissenschaftliches Umfeld bieten ideale Bedingungen, um Promovierende zu wissenschaftlicher Exzellenz zu führen. Die Doktorandinnen und Doktoranden profitieren zudem von unseren vielfältigen Verbindungen zu nationalen und internationalen Netzwerkpartnern. Sie erhalten eine gezielte Karriereförderung, die ihnen sowohl den Zugang zu Assistenzprofessuren und Stellen für Postdoktorandinnen und -doktoranden an führenden internationalen Forschungseinrichtungen, als auch zu hochqualifizierten Führungspositionen in der Wirtschaft und der öffentlichen Verwaltung ermöglichen soll. Dadurch wird eine besonders hohe nationale und internationale Sichtbarkeit der Graduiertenausbildung in den Sozialwissenschaften an der Universität Konstanz befördert.
