Term
from 2012 to 2017
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 211469636
The visionary goal is a situationally adaptive robotic system, the physical Cognitive Surgical Assistant (CoSA), which provides direct, physical assistance functions for different application projects. To this end, knowledge-based real-time components for manipulation and handling tasks are investigated. The concrete assistance functions, autonomous endoscope guidance and force adaptive retaining, are based on a pervasive cognitive system which continuously reasons about its actions by means of semantic models of surgery and robotics.
