Zusammenfassung der Projektergebnisse
In this project we sought to advance the understanding of how skills develop from childhood through young adulthood. In a first step, we tried to identify activities outside school that contribute to the development of skills. In order to estimate the effects of such activities on skill development, we combined flexible econometric methods from the program evaluation paradigm with a structural economic framework of skill production. In a next step, we investigated the interactions between different learning environments and activities in the production of skills. This allowed us to identify substitutes and complements in the production of skills.
