Project Details
Characterisation and Analysis of Invasive Algorithmic Patterns (A04)
Subject Area
Software Engineering and Programming Languages
Term
from 2014 to 2022
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 146371743
The project investigates how algorithms and applications may exploit and profit from the predictability features offered by the invasive computing paradigm. A major challenge stems from strongly varying execution phases of applications as well as uncertain performance behaviour and increasing error rates on modern hardware in embedded and HPC systems. Our goal is to provide optimised and robust execution despite such variances and fault scenarios by enforcing adaptation of the application behaviour, the application structure, and the set of allocated resources by means of RRE.
