Project Details
GRK 378: Mechanisms and Applications of Non-Conventional Oxidation Reactions
Subject Area
Molecular Chemistry
Term
from 1997 to 2006
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 272115
Non-conventional aspects of a central chemical reaction, oxidation, are studied within an interdisciplinary research programme. In addition to the regular research work within the framework of the doctoral programmes, a special interdisciplinary training programme is available for participating graduate students. The main targets of the research programme of the research training group are (A) the development of new oxidizing agents and their application in synthesis, (B) enzymatic oxidation reactions, including the characterization and structure determination of the enzymes, (C) investigation of reactive oxygen species in living organisms.
