Project Details
Control of pulmonary vessels and the right heart by histone modifications and metabolism in development and disease (B02)
Subject Area
Cardiology, Angiology
Term
since 2016
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 268555672
Epigenetic dysregulations and subsequent developmental abnormalities caused by Suv4-20h1 inactivation predispose for chronic lung diseases such as COPD and PH, leading to right ventricular (RV) hypertrophy and/or dilation. To gain better insights into underlying molecular mechanisms and implication in disease intervention, we will explore the molecular events regulating Suv4-20h1 activity and function during pathogenesis, decipher the function of Suv4-20h1 in PDGFR+ stromal cells during lung maturation and injury repair, and investigate the interplay between epigenetics and metabolism in regulating RV-remodeling and function during PH pathogenesis.
