Project Details
Role of SUMO-targeted ubiquitylation in the control of mitochondrial fission (A02)
Subject Area
Cell Biology
Term
from 2016 to 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 269925409
Mitochondria form a highly dynamic intracellular network, which is regulated by fusion and fission events. In this project, we will investigate the role of SUMO and of ubiquitin ligases recognising SUMO modified proteins (ULS) in the regulation of mitochondrial fission. The long-term goal of this project is to understand the regulation of mitochondrial fission in response to physiological needs by a cross talk of SUMO and ubiquitin modifications.
