Project Details
Deciphering the epigenetic basis of resilience (A05)
Subject Area
Biological Psychiatry
Term
from 2016 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 264810226
Having analyzed epigenetic modifications in resilient mice by applying different NGS technologies in the first funding period, the second funding period will be dedicated to study epigenetic mechanisms of resilience formation and to apply epigenetic drug treatment. To do so epigenetic candidate factors identified from omics studies of the first funding period will be examined for their role in resilience formation. The classical as well as the modified test setting (Modified Social Interaction Test) will be used. Epigenetic drug treatment will be continued and expanded in the second funding period. Promising results could already be obtained with the HDACi Ci-994.
