Screening denotes the phenomenon that a priori long-range interactions between microscopic elements are damped by neighboring elements within an effective interaction range. This project explores this effect in models of particle sedimentation, coarsening processes with local interactions, and topological insulators. A particular focus will be on stochastic effects and the study of long-time dynamics.
