Zusammenfassung der Projektergebnisse
Conclusion. The preponderance of the results from our screen of an autophagy library suggest that autophagy contributes to ototoxic HC damage. However, the compounds tested have many potential alternative effects. For this reason we cannot conclude with confidence that changes in autophagy were the primary reason for HC protection. Additional studies will need to be performed to further validate the results of our screen and to determine the relationship between autophagy and HC damage.
