Project Details
Novel luminophors with aggregation induced emission properties for protein recognition (A10)
Subject Area
Biological and Biomimetic Chemistry
Term
from 2018 to 2022
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 229838028
Project A10 deals with the synthesis, characterisation and application of novel luminophores with aggregation-induced emission for the recognition of proteins. To this end novel artificial amino-acids will be synthesized and used in a peptide library. Upon binding to a protein a fluorescence signal is expected due to a restriction of intramolecular rotation of the luminophores. This approach represents a completely new tool for the identification of protein ligands. Furthermore we aim for the synthesis of multivalent platforms with AIE properties in collaboration with groups from the CRC 1093 for the recognition of protein surfaces, pores and binding pockets.
