Zusammenfassung der Projektergebnisse

During this Research Fellowship I learned a lot about data science, genomic analysis, radiologic image analysis and machine learning methods. On every day, I found myself surrounded by an interdisciplinary team of scientists, who helped me to create, improve and troubleshoot along the course of my studies. The environment at this institution was always stimulating with regular team meetings and a free exchange of expertise between specialties and departments. Especially the expertise in the field of genomics that I could gather here will help to pursue my goal to establish a tumor sequencing pipeline for genitourinary neoplasms at the University of Munich. At my home institution, I will be involved in the sequencing process of the recently established interdisciplinary Molecular Tumor Board, which uses a targeted sequencing approach. The use of radiomic analysis as an add-on in the field of radiogenomics is promising regarding its use as a biomarker of disease aggressiveness and possible tumor response under systemic therapy. However, any next step first requires the completion of current investigations by our entire team to rule out methodological issues in our radiomic studies.
