Mechanisms of inflammatory BCL10 signalling in intestinal carcinogenesis (P08)

Subject Area Immunology
Term from 2018 to 2023
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 360372040

Inflammatory signals critically control colorectal cancer development. However, the molecular mechanisms that link aberrant inflammatory signals to intestinal carcinogenesis remain poorly defined. Signalosomes containing a CARD-domain protein, Bcl10, and Malt1 mediate inflammatory signals in the intestine and control tissue homeostasis and immune defence but their cell-type-specific effects during colitis-associated cancer remain unclear. In this collaborative project, we will dissect the Bcl10-dependent signals that impact on colorectal carcinogenesis and define how these signals influence cellular interplays within the tumour microenvironment.
