Project Details
Indication and benefit assessment of hearing devices: Which test conditions do we need? (C04)
Subject Area
Acoustics
Term
since 2018
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 352015383
By applying the subject-in-the-loop framework of the CRC, project C4 aims at personalizing hearing devic-es and therefore at increasing the individual benefit and rehabilitation success from their usage. We con-sider the ecological validity of laboratory or virtual environments representative for real life and develop and validate fitting procedures that go beyond “classical” acoustic speech recognition and quality assess-ment tests, e.g., by including realistic speech communication and more patient-centered tasks. Hence, we will make the methods, models, and insights from the CRC available to the practically important application of hearing aid assessment and fitting for the future.
