Final Report Abstract

The project has made a significant contribution to the desired compatibility of short -term performance goals of production planning and long-term development goals as well as the deployment wishes of employees. By introducing system stability as a constraint, multi-criteria optimisation is possible without reducing production performance. Thanks to its modular structure and the integration of the CP Solver optimisation algorithm, the developed planning method enables personnel deployment planning for different production systems. On the planning side, working time requests and workplace requests from employees are introduced into the optimisation problem as restrictions. At the same time, the aim is to minimise the throughput time of the orders in the Boolean fulfilment process and thus maximise the output of the production system. In test scenarios, the consideration of learning effects in personnel scheduling was first successfully validated. Subsequently, the increased flexibility of multi-criteria planning compared to isolated, efficiency-optimised employee allocation was demonstrated. Without missing throughput targets, working time requests from employees could be met that could not be implemented with efficiency-optimised allocation. In addition, a promising approach was trialled with pure focus learning, which nevertheless offers potential for further research in terms of robustly high decision quality.
