Zusammenfassung der Projektergebnisse

Mediterrane Agrarlandschaften, die durch eine reiche biologische und Lebensmittelvielfalt gekennzeichnet sind, stehen vor großen Nachhaltigkeits-Herausforderungen, beispielsweise durch landwirtschaftliche Intensivierung und Landnutzungsaufgabe. „Landschaftsprodukte“ bieten die Möglichkeit, einige der negativen Auswirkungen dieser Dynamik abzuschwächen und ein nachhaltiges Landschaftsmanagement zu fördern. In diesem Zusammenhang identifizierte LANDSCAPE_CHAINS Hebelpunkte innerhalb der Wertschöpfungsketten von Landschaftsprodukten, die soziale und ökologische Zielkonflikte über verschiedene Skalen und Akteursgruppen hinweg. Erstens untersuchte das Projekt Zielkonflikte um die Ökosystemleistungen von Landschaftsprodukten und den mit diesen verbundenen Landschaften (WP1-3). Zweitens analysierte das Projekt, wie der Wert von Erzeugnissen aus multifunktionalen Landschaften erfasst werden kann (WP4-6). Drittens identifizierte das Forschungsvorhaben wichtige Hebelpunkte im Landschaftsmanagement und in den Wertschöpfungsketten von Landschaftsprodukten, die eine Transformation zur Nachhaltigkeit unterstützen können (WP7-8). Unser Projekt etablierte eine interdisziplinäre Forschungsagenda an der Schnittstelle der Forschungen zu Landschaften und Lebensmittelsystemen. Diese kann wichtige Verbindung zwischen geographisch entfernten Orten und Prozessen sowie zwischen verschiedenen Einflussfaktoren der Lebensmittel- und Landschaftsqualität, Landwirtschaft, Forstwirtschaft, Ökosystemmanagement und sozioökonomischem Wandel aufzeigen. LANDSCAPE_CHAINS präsentierte seine Ergebnisse in 17 veröffentlichten Studien sowie in zahlreichen weiteren und in Zukunft erscheinenden Veröffentlichungen. Das Projekt hat die akademische Laufbahn von sieben Nachwuchswissenschaftler*innen gefördert.
