The German legislator is considering to make "sustainable", i.e. decent, working conditions in global supply chains subject of regulation, convinced that certain working conditions are indispensable minimum standard for all workers around the world. In collaboration with scientists from the DRC, the project examines the idea of "decent work" in global supply chains and searches for a legal approach to the concept, involving both sides of the supply chain. It will draw conclusions regarding the enforcement of minimum working conditions under Congolese labour law and identifies methods of implementation of decent working conditions in global supply chains under German law.
